Sunday Sketches

There is no official Sunday Sketches this week, but I’ve done one anyway, so I’m going to post it. Drop by at Blue Chair Diary for some great Sunday Sketches in the future.

Silver SandsSilver Sands, graphite pencil and charcoal on illustration board, approx. 25 x 20 mm

Silver Sands is a beach at the far south of metropolitan Adelaide. This was drawn from a photo I took in winter 2008. I haven’t drawn a landscape since I was in high school, so this was way out of my norm. Hubby suggested I do it. Next time I’ll use a finer tooth illustration board.

Nutty
(never used graphite or charcoal for this kind of work before)

  4. I love the moody atmosphere you created here – the textured paper really adds to it I think. It’s a very skilful piece. I especially love the rain falling in the distance. A very clever piece of work, you should be proud of it.
