More paper mosaics

I started this week with a lot of energy, but full time and above working wore me down, so my current work in progress hasn’t progressed since the beginning of the week 🙁 And it won’t progress much over the weekend either as I’m working both days. But! I have Tuesday off and there will be time for me, I’m determined.

So all I have for Paint Party Friday is a half-finished paper mosaic.

If you would like to see one of these completed, check out my Exploration of Paper Mosaics.

In other news, I will be prepping four paintings next week ready for exhibition at the Goolwa Art and Photography Exhibition and likely constructing a Minecraft themed pinata and cake for my eldest birthday party next Sunday. Art skills definitely come in handy in the strangest of places.

Don’t forget to check out all the great artists over at this week’s Paint Party Friday. There is some gorgeous work over there.

Best wishes,
Liz

  1. Whoa what a stunning paper mosaic. It looks like shards of glass.
Good luck with your forthcoming exhibition.

    1. Thanks, Nessie! Yes, is is very glass-like, I was totally amazed when I did the first one of these, to get such a great result. Experimentation discovers all sorts of things.

      Happy PPF!

  2. This is really cool. It feels like a cracked eye, or a broken starburst or just a pretty design. Love pieces that make you think a little bit about what they are. And thanks for the birthday wishes! Hugs.

    1. Thanks, Erika 😀 It is kinda meditative sticking those pieces of paper down one by one.

And you are welcome. Happy PPF and Bday!

  6. Ohhhh this is coming along beautifully. The white just makes this pop. Good luck with your Exhibition.

    1. Thanks, Nicole! Hopefully I’ll get it finished this week in time for this Friday 😀

      Happy PPF!

  7. it is looking amazing and good luck with the pinata construction… you are braver than I

    1. Thanks, Tracey! The kids get a cake and pinata each out of me each year. Last year I made a Minecraft creeper and a skrill dragon from Dreamworks dragons. The skrill got a little out of control and ended up bigger than me 😀 This year I have a Minecraft Enderman and something fairy related to create. There is lots of cardboard, sticky tape and crepe paper involved and the results are varied, but the kids seem to like it 😀

  8. This piece is exquisite. It fills my eyes–which is the greatest compliment I can give…wow! I have seen glass shattered in real life which would mimic what you have done here…I am so inspired. This piece is just beautiful.

    1. Thankyou, Beth! Such kind words. If you would like to learn how these mosaics are made, visit my blog post just before this one. Exploring paper mosaics, for a complete run down 😀 I’m also in the process of making some of these paper mosaics available for sale, so keep an eye out for that as well.
