Stone Wisteria – Artful Creations Day 26

Artful Creations

It is amazing how the simplest thing can influence the direction of a painting. A friend of mine took one look at a WIP of mine and mentioned that it reminded her of wisteria. My brain latched onto the idea and now my abstract, random, I-don’t-know-what-it-is painting is now wisteria 😀 Thank you my dear friend.

It is still leading me all over the garden path as I play with it, but I’m enjoying myself and am encouraged with the results so far. Still heavily a work in progress, here be my Stone Wisteria…

Since I added the purple (here a touch more blue thanks to the camera), it has brought out all the colours and I’m really encouraged. Lots of work still to do, but I’m feeling positive that I might have a half-decent painting when I finish.

In other news…there may be a trip to the art shop tomorrow to flesh out my Matisse paints a little more, not because I simply feel like it (I had intended on cutting down on the art materials expenditure for a while), but because I need to have certain colours for an art course I will be attending, starting 5th February. Many, many thanks to a good friend of mine for pointing out this course, and I’m really happy that we are going together. More details when I start. I’m excited and nervous at the same time. It has been nearly twenty years since my last art instruction and that was graphic design school, hardly a fine art situation. I know I’m not a good student, so there will likely be challenge involved.

And don’t forget that this is a blog hop! Make sure to visit some of the artists below, you won’t regret it 😀

Best wishes,
Liz
